    Sara bint Mashour Al Saud

Sara bint Mashour Al Saud (Arabic: سارة بنت مشهور آل سعود) is a member of the Saudi royal family. She is the granddaughter of King Abdulaziz. She is married to her half-cousin, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, son and heir of King Salman.

Sara bint Mashour is the daughter of Mashour bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Noura bint Mohammed Saud Al Kabir.[1] Her father is the son of King Abdulaziz and Nouf bint Nawaf bin Nuri Al Shaalan.[2] Her mother, Noura, is the daughter of Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabir and granddaughter of Noura bint Abdul Rahman Al Saud and Saud Al Kabir.[1]

Princess Sara married Prince Mohammed on 6 April 2008.[3][4] They have five children, three boys and two girls: Prince Salman, Prince Mashour, Princess Fahda, Princess Noura and Prince Abdulaziz (born April 2021).[5][6]

The first four were named after their grandparents, and the fifth one is named after his great-grandfather King Abdulaziz, the founder of Saudi Arabia.

According to Ali al-Ahmed of Institute for Gulf Affairs, based on the anonymous sources from the Al Saud family it was reported that Princess Sara had been subject to domestic violence since the early days of her marriage. Similar allegations were also mentioned in the book entitled Saudi Bodyguard by Mark Young who had worked for the family.[3]

Meet Sara bint Mashour Al Saud - The Barbie Princess

We take a closer look at Sara bint Mashour Al Saud, the daughter of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, known to the world as The Barbie Princess.

In the West, arguably the fastest way to gain celebrity status is to be involved in showbiz in some form or another, in the Middle East and the Far East it is to be a member of the royal family.

Now, for those of you with a keen interest in the monarchies of various countries, this article looking at Saudi Princess Sara bint Mashour Al Saud should prove to be very insightful and eye-opening indeed.

The daughter of Prince Talal and the third wife of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, this wife, mother, and philanthropist has fans from all over the globe.

Here’s a better look at her.

Who is Sara bint Mashour Al Saud?

Born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1973, Sara Bint Talal was born a member of the house of Saud.

Because of her striking complexion and good looks, she was known as ‘Little Barbie’ from a young age.

Sara bint Mashour Al Saud, unlike a lot of other Saudi women of the House of Saud, was actually schooled by an English governess before attending Riyad’s prestigious King Saud University.

She wed a royal cousin shortly afterwards, though the marriage was short-lived and she found herself divorced whilst still in her early twenties.

    Philanthropy And Turmoil

After her divorce, she had a new outlook on life and took after her father’s passion for philanthropy and soon started to run her own charitable organization.

She would often accompany her father to refugee camps as her father was a UNICEF ambassador.

In 2007, things took an ugly turn and she was forced to seek political asylum in the UK along with her 4 children as she was a vocal anti-corruption supporter in the Kingdom and actually had to flee her own father.

Furthermore, she found herself at odds with her brother over a £325 Million fortune left behind by their late mother Moudie bint Abdul Mohsen Alangary.

Her own uncle protected her from her father, as her uncle, the late Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz was a rival of her father until his passing in 2012.

    Marriage And Asylum

After her request for asylum was granted, Sara bint Mashour Al Saud became more vocal over her criticism of the laws in the Kingdom, and she called for reforms.

In 2008, she married Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and together they have four children.

In 2012, she requested political asylum in the UK due to threats made to her and her family. This was the first case in which a senior member of the Saudi ruling family requested political asylum.

It is believed that she has resided in the UK since 2007, though this is not confirmed.
